For a residential project in the town of Kaufbeuren, Germany, Agglotech provided the company’s terrazzo for the flooring and stair cladding. Two colors were selected for the project: SB 250 Lido and SB 171 Nero Venato.
Venetian terrazzo has always been one of the most suited materials for flooring and the cladding of stairs, because it is resistant, versatile, and available in a great many colors.
For this residential project in Kaufbeuren, Germany, two colors of Venetian terrazzo — SB 250 Lido and SB 171 Nero Venato — were used for flooring and stairs. Lido is a vibrant white from Agglotech’s “Seminato Veneziano” line, which features large-chip marble aggregate distributed evenly throughout the material. Nero Venato is a deep black from the company’s “Classico” line, which is very popular with designers and architects and features mid-sized marble chips of varying color for a terrazzo with a sophisticated elegance.
SB250 Lido was used for the stairs and flooring, as well as on a portion of the walls in the common area. The white color and polished finish illuminates the spaces in which it is used, and the mid-sized and large-chip marble aggregate creates unique plays of light. SB171 Nero Venato was used for the exterior baseboards and to clad the first and last steps of the staircases as a sort of marker for the top and bottom of the stairs.
