Our terrazzo slabs may be provided with four types of finish: honed, polished, brushed, or bush-hammered.
Honed COST-EFFECTIVE – FUNCTIONAL – DURABLE
This is the most common finish, featuring a smooth, matte surface and good slip resistance (rated R9 or R10). Suited to public and private spaces, it complies fully with prevailing safety standards.
The remarkable shine of this particular finish is guaranteed to make an impact.
It is best suited to indoor spaces as it can be slippery, especially in an outdoor setting where rain could be an issue.
Brushed ELEGANT – DURABLE – LOW MAINTENANCE
Powerful metal brushes scrape off layers of the cement from the terrazzo slabs. The result is a sort of relief effect with a lightly dimpled surface that is evident to the touch. Suited to both public and private spaces, it complies fully with prevailing slip-resistance standards.
Bush-hammered: ADDS NO THICKNESS FOR A HIGH-PERFORMANCE ANTI-SLIP SURFACE
This type of finish is achieved by using a diamond-tipped tool spinning at high speeds to remove small chips of the terrazzo material. The result is a rough surface with a homogeneous look that is perfect for outdoor flooring and other cladding.
