Westgate Shopping Center

For the Westgate Oxford shopping center, Agglotech was chosen to provide the SB 160 Carrara Gray version of the company’s Venetian marble-cement aggregate. Thanks to the technology used to produce blocks of Venetian aggregate, which are then cut into slabs, the Italian firm was able to sculpt custom terrazzo flooring for the project.

The project
Featuring a lighter gray color with its small-chip marble aggregate, the SB 160 version was used as flooring for a number of food-service areas, corridors, and other common areas in the building. For these high-traffic areas, it was necessary to use a material that would be resistant to wear over time, while also conveying the building’s modern design. Particularly suited to ample surface areas, Agglotech’s Venetian terrazzo has proven to up to the task in meeting the needs of the center’s architects.
With its design and execution being centered around specifically selected vendors, the project exalted the harmony of color and form of this Venetian flooring.
