A reception desk made entirely of sculpted Venetian marble and marble-cement flooring give a distinctively strong personality to the lobby of an office building in Taiwan. Both of these terrazzo design features were produced and provided by Agglotech in collaboration with our local partner Winnie Stone.

The project
For this project, the Venetian terrazzo chosen was the color SB173 Grigio Venato, an elegant hue that provides a beautiful contrast with the distinctive wood features of the surrounding setting. The terrazzo, with its dark-colored, mid-sized marble aggregate set in a base of white cement, was provided with a gloss finish, which both illuminates the space and creates elegant sparkles of light made possible by the intentional placement of recessed lighting and modern LED strips. Being able to sculpt design features directly out of blocks of marble cement, Agglotech also created an impressive reception desk for the lobby in harmony with the surrounding flooring, which was designed to meet the specific needs of the designers, who have exalted the terrazzo with recessed lighting and LED strips to create an air of modern sophistication.
