LHL Hospital
Oslo, Norway
Agglotech was contacted by the designers of a new hospital in Oslo to provide the company’s Venetian terrazzo to exalt the hospital’s modern, minimalist design. The client has found this characteristic Italian marble-cement agglomerate to be the best material for both the flooring and the facility’s interior stairs.

The project
The SB173 terrazzo from Agglotech’s “Classico” line, featuring a white cement base contrasting against a darker marble aggregate, was selected as the color that would faithfully reflect the architectural style of the building, which is prevalently characterized by natural materials and a modern, minimalist style.
The Venetian flooring has been skillfully inserted in this luminous setting overlooking the surrounding greenery. The color of the terrazzo is a natural, more modern interpretation of traditional Venetian terrazzo and is in perfect harmony with the precision and simplicity of form of the wood and glass featured throughout the building.
The designers went with Agglotech terrazzo both for the dynamic, elegant color selection and because it is a material suited to both stair cladding and flooring for ample surface areas. Its durability and ease of maintenance make it a favorite for public building such as hospitals, museums, and shopping centers.
