DB Brick
Frankfurt, Germany
In the European quarter (Europaviertel) of Frankfurt, between the main Deutsche Bahn (DB) train station and the fairgrounds, lies a new office complex known as “The Brick”, which also serves as DB’s new head office. The classical architecture of this impressive building is in the style of 1920s industrial buildings and features Agglotech’s marble-cement cladding across a portion of the interior flooring.

The project
Agglotech’s marble cement has helped make a number of spaces within the “DB Brick” truly unique thanks to the sparkle of the mid-sized marble aggregate set against an elegant black cement base. This color of terrazzo, known as SB171 Nero Venato, offsets the extreme luminosity of the surrounding white and adds a touch of character to the building’s high-traffic areas. The expressive power of this dark flooring is exalted by the harmoniously agglomerated marble highlights, which create intriguing plays of light throughout the space. An effective solution to the designers’ aesthetic demands, Agglotech’s Venetian terrazzo also ensures excellent technical performance for these high-traffic areas that call for high standards of both safety and durability over time.
