Tokiwabashi Tower

Tokiwabashi Tower is part of the decade-long project still underway to develop Tokyo’s Tokiwabashi district. At a height of 212 meters and with a total surface area of more than 140,000 square meters, this impressive building will be home to a great many offices and shops. For this major development, Agglotech’s marble-cement cladding helped to enhance the building’s modern, minimalist design.

The project
The design of the Tokiwabashi Tower features a harmony of architectural simplicity and material elegance. Within this context, the style and sophistication of Agglotech’s Venetian terrazzo was selected as wall cladding over a vast surface area. The designers chose two colors of terrazzo — SB143 Carrara White and SB240 Torcello — to create intriguing geometric patterns. The luminosity of white Carrara marble has been paired with the gray hues of a Venetian seminato to stunning effect, demonstrating the extraordinary versatility of this marble cement in terms of both style and application. The beauty and sophistication of natural marble help set the evocatively minimalist mood of this latest addition to the Tokyo skyline.
