Hotel Passo Sella

In collaboration with Sevis, a local provider of dolomite stone, Agglotech provided an entirely custom-designed Venetian terrazzo for the newly erected Hotel Passo Sella Dolomiti Mountain Resort, located in the heart of Val Gardena at an altitude of over 2,000 meters (6,600 feet).

The project
For this unique project at Hotel Passo Sella, Agglotech provided the company’s Venetian terrazzo for all the outdoor flooring and for a number of stairs. The terrazzo used is an entirely custom-designed version in both its color and in its use of dolomite stone in place of the more traditional marble aggregate.
This terrazzo features a unique blend of light-gray hues that can shift towards pinker tones as the sunlight reflects off of the chips of dolomite stone carved out of the Dolomite Mountains.
The terrazzo also features a bush-hammered finish, which makes the surface less slippery as is particularly necessary for outdoor flooring. Rated R13 on the slip-resistance scale, this terrazzo is an excellent solution for outdoor flooring in a mountain setting. In addition to ensuring durability in high-traffic contexts, Venetian flooring resists cold winter climates well without suffering the potential deterioration that can be caused by salt used to combat ice.
